I thought this was interesting.I have always wondered why there were some slight variations in the molds.This is so cool.There is pic on the webpage too.

Because lost wax casting destroys the finished wax master, the only way to get a new master mold is to make a new finished wax. All the original pre-production molds were lost. Erin faithfully recreated the American Girl? head from the production doll."
